During the past 20 + years I have had 7+ surgeries in my left foot and ankle .Most recently left ankle fusion ,left ankle replacement and revision surgery . Pain has been a part of my life during this period and consequently my quality of life has diminished.Since being referred to Drs Popp by a friend and attorney my life has improved . I am sleeping and walking more than before . I feel much better and have a Dr that understandsmy problem much better than the previous 6+ i had seen.Dr Popp takes time to review how I feel overall not just focusing on the foot and ankle issue.

Dr. Popp listens to and answers all of my questions. She does not rush the appointment, but is very patient and caring. I feel confident with her treatment. The staff is friendly and caring as well.

Thorough and compassionate!

Dr. Popp is a true professional! She looks beyond the surface to see everything that may be happening with her patients. I have been with her practice for 3 years and have always received kind, compassionate and thorough care. She found I have a thyroid condition I didn’t know I had. I followed up with my GP and sure enough, my thyroid is off and I needed to start lifelong medication to keep it under control. She also saw an abdominal aortic aneurism on my husband’s MRI scans. She never misses! I am very fortunate to have Dr. Popp for my doctor!

Most Amazing Doctor

I have been on worker’s compensation since 1993. I have seen various doctors since then. One of them had me on medication for 25 years. Thank God he retired and worker’s compensation referred me to Dr. Popp. Since Dr. Popp started treating me, there has been great improvement with my pain. I am no longer taking medications as I used to take to help with the pain. On Thursday, December 21st, I suffered a severe muscle spasm. The office was closed. I call the emergency service number, I was told the office was closed for vacation but that they would open to see me and provided the treatment that was much needed. I have never experienced this service with any other doctor. Thank you again, Dr. Popp and his wife Vivian.

I receive epidural injections under sedation by Dr. Popp. He is amazing! I always feel safe and I trust his expertise fully! He is only affiliated with the best surgical centers and my procedures go perfectly. The injections give me months of pain relief. He really knows what he is doing. He is kind, professional and compassionate. Highly recommend!

This review has been too long in coming. I have been suffering from a severe case of Spinal Stenosis for the past 4-5 years. It has gotten progressively worse over time to the point that I could not stand upright for more than a couple of minutes before I experienced crippling pain. Finally my doctor referred me to Dr. Popp who does the MILD (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression) procedure. I was skeptical after so many failures and so much prolonged pain, but with no options left I wanted to try it. I met with Dr. Popp and discussed my issues and finally set up a surgery date in February. After the surgery Dr. Popp gave me a referral for Physical Therapy which I did twice a week for 2 months. I am very happy to report that now my baseline walking pain has been reduced by 70-80%. I have tripled my walking distance without pain after the surgery…just call Dr. Popp he can help you.

The best in pain management. By far a professional and caring physician. A former surgeon who gets to the root cause of the pain. After many visits to the VA who found nothing, Dr Popp was able to quickly identify the reason and treat the pain.

Dr. Popp has performed epidural blocks and procedures on my spine to control my pain successfully. His appointments are always on time and he takes the time to explain all diagnosis to his patients, answering all questions. Dr. Popp is thorough and professional with outstanding bedside manners. Dr. Popp truly cares about the well being of his patients and goes the extra mile to make sure his patients are well taken care of. He visits his patients daily when hospitalized. His staff is super!

I’ve been seeing both Dr Howard Popp & his wife Dr Vivian Hernandez-Popp for several years. I wish they could treat me for all my health care needs. They’re conservative in their approach to treatment, which I find refreshing.I find them not only to be professional & knowledgeable but to also be compassionate, caring, empathetic & truly interested not only in me & my well being but also they are also concerned with my family. Dr. Popp is an outstanding pain management specialist and so is his wife, Dr. Vivian Popp. My wife suffered for several years with neck and back pain and after exhausting various clinics in North Carolina, we were referred to the Popps. After a diagnostic session, an injection was performed. Within one day all pain ceased. She remained pain free for over a year. Pain began in another area of her back and another injection produced the same result. We are extremely thankful!!!!
